Doula Services
Mother to Mother first started in 1997 by offering Birth Doula Services to families in Central NJ. Certified through DONA International, I take one to two couples per month which has allowed my clients and I to develop a close bond while providing the personalized professional care they deserve.
We meet throughout their pregnancy to become familiar with their birth preferences and to answer any questions they may have. When in labor, I will meet with them either at home or immediately upon admittance to the hospital. I am there throughout the entire length of the labor offering emotional, physical, and informational support to both the laboring mom and her partner. Present throughout the pushing stage I encourage moms into the best and most effective positions for birthing.
Additional Specialties
As a breastfeeding educator, I am there to initiate breastfeeding within the first hour of life and to offer tips and suggestions for successful breastfeeding during the first several days. Mother to Mother is also involved with ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network). In a state ( NJ ) that has a high cesarean rate, I meet with birthing moms prenatally to discuss their desires and options for a vbac (vaginal birth after cesarean) and guide them to practitioners who support and encourage vbacs. I enjoy working with vbac couples building up their confidence for a successful vbac while helping them achieve the birth they truly desire.
Childbirth Education
As a certified Lamaze childbirth educator, I offer private classes to couples wanting to learn about safe and healthy birth practices. The classes are taught in a safe and warm environment where the focus in on the needs of the individual couple. Time is spent sharing thoughts, fears and concerns and, come out feeling well prepared and ready for the amazing journey that lies ahead of them. Newborn baby care and breastfeeding classes are also offered.
Personalized Care
My success over the years stems from the ability to provide “Personalized Professional Care” to all my clients. I have achieved this by offering private childbirth classes to all of my doula clients in the comfort of a private setting. The size of the classes are small so that the focus is on you, your needs, and the needs of your partner. Couples are able to interact with me and amongst themselves in an environment that is comfortable, warm, and non-threatening.

Hydrotherapy use in labor has become more and more popular amongst birthing women today. Just watch “A Baby Story” and see all the New Jersey women utilizing the tub. Whether mothers choose to give birth at home or in a hospital, renting a birth tub is something to be considered. Laboring mother’s can enjoy the benefit it provides during labor, or choose to birth the baby in the warmth of the water. It’s a tool worth using.
